There is effectively very little difference between an essay and an article.
One major difference to note is that an essay usually develops some form of argument and therefore begins with an introduction/background. It has a number of intermediary paragraphs in which the argument or issues are discussed and then finally arrives at a conclusion to express the views of the author.

Whereas an article does not need develop an issue or argument or even display a point of view. It just divulges some information or observation made by the author. It can also be a narration or a story. Because it is aimed at readers who seek to be informed rather than entertained, it has shorter paragraphs than an essay. In other words, it is more interesting. It is likely to contain links and references and at the end, does not necessary contain any conclusion.

A non-fiction article written in the second or the third person is called an essay. The main elements of an essay are facts, stats, quotes from interview sources, and is written with an impartial tone.

An article is usually written in the first person. It is often based on your own feelings, opinions, and experiences.

It doesn’t really matter too much. whether you call a piece of prose an essay or a short story for that matter, as long as you’re clear in your own mind as to what is fiction and what is non-fiction – and that the reader can be when it matters. However in everyday life the term essay and article are used interchangeably.

Introduction:

Open source does not only signify accessing the source code.
The distribution terms of open-source software must be in according with the following criteria:

Free Redistribution: The license shall not delimit any party from selling or giving away the software as a component of an collective software distribution that contains programs from several different sources. The license shall not need a royalty or other fee for such sale.

Source Code: The program must take account of source code, and must permit distribution in source code as well as compiled form. Where some form of a product is not dispersed with source code, there must be a well-publicized means of getting the source code for no more than a reasonable reproduction cost if possible, downloading via the Internet without charge. The source code must be the favored form in which a programmer would modify the program. Deliberately obfuscated source code is not permitted. Intermediate forms such as the production of a preprocessor or translator are not allowed.

Derived Works: The license must consent to alteration and consequent works, and ensure them to be distributed under the same terms as the license of the main software.

Integrity of The Author’s Source Code: The license may restrain source-code from being circulated in modified form only if the license ensures the distribution of “patch files” with the source code for the cause of modifying the program at build time. The license must openly permit distribution of software built from customized source code. The license may necessitate derived works to carry a dissimilar name or version number from the original software.

No Discrimination Against Persons or Groups: The license must not separate against any person or group of persons.

No Discrimination Against Fields of Endeavor: The license must not confine anyone from making use of the program in a specific field of attempt. For example, it may not control the program from being used in a business, or from being used for genetic research.

Distribution of License: The rights related to the program must be relevant to all to whom the program is redistributed without the requirement for implementation of an additional license by those parties.

License Must Not Be Specific to a Product:The rights related to the program must not depend on the program’s being part of some software distribution. If the program is removed from that distribution and used or distributed within the terms of the program’s license, all parties to whom the program is redistributed should contain similar rights as those that are decided in conjunction with the original software distribution.

License Must Not Restrict Other Software: The license must not delimit other software that is distributed along with the licensed software. For example, the license must not be resolute that all other programs distributed on the same medium require being open-source software.

License Must Be Technology-Neutral: No provision of the license may be made on any individual technology or style of interface.

The distribution terms of open source applications must be in accordance with the above mentioned factors.

Touch-screen notebooks are not a new thing, especially in the realm of smartphones and PDAs, however owing to disappointing hardware and the lack of OS support, they’ve remained a minute market niche for business notebooks and desktop systems. Until now. But things look to brighten up with the introduction of the new Windows 7. It not only offers enhanced stability, better performance and a sharper appearance, it’s the foremost mainstream operating system that supports touch screens from the base. Rather than adding in touch software piece by piece, as it was with Windows XP and earlier efforts, Windows 7 can run as a touch system at all levels of the OS. The result is smoother and more reliable response.

Pushed by the release of Windows 7 and new hardware, it is predicted that the number of touch notebooks sold could surge from today’s 2 to 3 percent of the market to as much as 10 percent in 2015. More to the point, they will be going from exclusively business systems to those that consumers buy as well. On the hardware side, the trick to adding touch is the digitizer, a translucent grid array that is located on top of a notebook’s LCD display. In the past, the initial resistive digitizers, which ran by using pressure to make two sheets of material touch, weren’t reliable enough, needed too much pressure and could only handle a single input at a time.

In comparison, today’s capacitive digitizers work when the user disrupts an electromagnetic field on the screen’s surface with a finger or specialized stylus pen. They respond to the slightest of touches and can handle several inputs at once, which means one can use complex gestures, like those supported by Apple’s iPhone. In order to enlarge an image one will have to pull your thumb and forefinger apart. Pivot your forefinger around your thumb to rotate it.

Capacitive digitizers also make for more better handwriting recognition. Though character recognition is still not perfect, it has gained enough momemtum that most users can successfully enter Web addresses and note lists and words or short phrases. However, on the lapse side, touch doesn’t come cheap. Especially in the cases for systems with displays larger than those deliberated for a handheld, touch can add a couple of hundred dollars to the price of the computer. As touch-screen sales volumes rise, however, prices will fall. In the meantime, the first batch of Windows 7 Touch machines has arrived. In this review, Fujitsu’s LifeBook T4410, HP’s TouchSmart tx2z and Lenovo’s ThinkPad T400s.

To see how it works, there was a test on how these systems measure up, each display was tried with a finger, pen or both. Leaving the keyboard and touchpad, a number of Web sites was visited, moved windows around, manipulated images, played games and so on.Each unit was also measured, weighed and examined and followed that with an thorough workout with the PassMark PerformanceTest 7.0 benchmark. The test builds up on every component and provides an overall score

Generalized anxiety, anxiety attacks and panic attacks, OCD, PTSD and even depression – all of these problems involve fear, anxiety and panic. And fear, anxiety and panic are all about one thing: survival.
It is the main drive of every living thing to survive and reproduce (so that our genes survive). It drives everything we do every waking second and every sleeping second, every conscious minute and every unconscious minute. Anxiety-related problems are all formed around this drive to survive.

Carl Rogers, perhaps one of the most influential psychologists in American history, founder of the humanistic psychology movement, based his client-centered therapy approach on the concept that everything in life strives to be, to exist as best they can, given the circumstances. In his book, A Way of Being, he describes one of his boyhood memories, that, to him, clearly demonstrates this drive to exist in all things.

The family used to store their winters supply of potatoes in the basement, in a bin that was several feet below a small window. The conditions were unfavourable, but the potatoes would begin to sprout pale white sprouts, so unlike the healthy green shoots that they sent up when they were planted in the soil in spring. These sad, spindly sprouts would grow two or three feet in length as they reached toward the distant light of the window. To Rogers, these sprouts, that would never mature, never become plants, in their futile, bizarre growth, were striving to become, to live and flourish, even under the most adverse circumstances.

And its the same for every living thing on the planet; driven from somewhere deep inside; to be, to exist and grow, to survive.

We are all the product of millions of years of evolution, designed to survive at all costs. The child in the womb competes with her mothers body for resources, newborn pups in a litter fight to get to the mother first; from our first conception, we fight to survive. Nature will not trust us with the survival of our genes (her genes actually), so we are programmed to behave in ways that will help us to protect them in certain situations. Newborns will duck at looming objects; we dont have to learn how to jump out of the way of a speeding car.

Basic survival needs include: the need to eat, to eliminate waste and to have shelter. However, what interests us is the need for self-protection, the ability to deal with actual or potential situations that are dangerous and may harm us, it is this ability that lies at the heart of all anxiety-related problems.

Fear, anxiety and panic are our protectors. They energize us to take action, either slowly if the threat is in the future or in an instant if the threat is imminent. This energy helps us to deal with the situation or to avoid it to stand and fight or to run from it. The fight-or-flight response a hard-wired internal survival system, one that helps to keep us alive one that lies at the heart of all anxiety problems and disorders.

It may be viewed as a clich, but there is nothing closer to the truth anxiety disorders (and depression) are not about living, they are all about surviving. So much so that we may severely harm ourselves as our inner-self struggles for our genes to survive.

A locksmiths job involves installing, fixing, picking and removing lock systems and to do so a basic understanding of how a lock works is needed. The basic system of a lock, whereby a key is used to move a metal peg into a hole in the door frame is essentially the same across designs. However it is the manner by which this is achieved that has changed and evolved over time.

In the old days, when most locks used the same gate key, this was a fairly simple matter (though the very earliest form of lock was actually found in Ancient Egypt). Gate keys, still used today though mainly as a deterrent/design feature for large gates and churches, have a very simple anatomy consisting of a blade (the actually key bit that works with the mechanism) near the end, and a long handle which holds the blade at a right angle. This means that only a very limited number of permeations are possible, as only the distance of the blade from the end of the key and its size is what determines which lock it will fit and a persistent thief could easily replicate the key or turn the lock mechanism by other means. They are also known as warded locks and occasionally found on cupboards and drawers.

Over time however locks have become more sophisticated. After the introduction of locksmith guilds in the middle ages, the art form progressed drastically as incidences of crime increased giving rise to a large industry. Now locksmiths were encouraged to design more and more complex designs that would be able to keep out greater numbers of intruders and be harder to pick. In order to become a master locksmith within a guild the locksmith would have to design a new and innovative type of lock which would then be put on display within the guild or in museums. This obviously gave rise to more and more complicated types of lock.

Cylinder locks are far more common today and these work very differently. Here the cylinder element of the lock actually consists of a cylinder within a cylinder and it is the job of the inner chamber to turn and move the lock mechanism. Normally however this is prevented by a number of small pins of varying lengths which rest inside the chamber. It is the job of the blade of the key and its teeth then to push these pins out from the centre of the cylinder so that the lock might turn. Cylinder locks can easily be unscrewed and replaced by locksmiths if the locks need to be changed. Also popular are lever locks which utilise keys similar in design to gate keys.

Many businesses and organisations however now use digital locks with key cards or numeric coding systems to release or engage a powerful magnetic lock. These systems have the advantage of foregoing the need to copy many different keys and also negate skeleton keys or lock picks for slightly better security. On the downside they are susceptible to hacking, power outages and are fairly expensive to install.
